About Us
Person centered care is paramount to recognise and meet each person’s right to privacy, dignity, independence, choice, human rights and fulfilment. We promote and foster good relations between the residents, relatives/friends and staff at Adamscourt, by open communication and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere awaits any vistor at Adamscourt.
We have a full activity and entertainment programme to suit all tastes, music, dance, outings, walking parties, reminiscence, cookery, flower arranging, card games and Christmas is an exceptionally happy time at Adamscourt. We have trained staff who can safely administer medication.
We recognise that a move to a residential home can be a difficult one, not only for the resident but also their families. Prospective residents are invited to spend the day with us prior to joining Adamscourt, have lunch, spend time with our other residents and generally get a feel for the home. This allows the person and their family to make an informed choice and gives time to ask questions and seek further relevant information.
Philosophy of care
Adamscourt Care Home aims to provide its residents with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort is of prime importance.
Our Carers will strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in doing so will be sensitive to the residents ever changing needs.
Such needs may be medical/therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social and residents are encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised Plan of Care, as are family and friends where appropriate.
This will be achieved through programmes of activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self esteem, and social interaction with other residents and with recognition of the core values of care which are fundamental to the philosophy of our home.
Staff
All our staff are employed under a rigorous process which enables us to find the best candidates for the job. All our care staff have, or at least are working towards an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care. Likewise our catering staff all have NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality.
We are committed to keeping our staff up to date with changing procedure and legislation using a continuous staff training programme.
Our staff are passionate and committed to providing the highest standard of care.
Continuity of care is of utmost importance to us and our residents. We keep our staff happy and motivated to ensure that turnover is low by conducting regular appraisals.
Our open and friendly management team allows staff, residents and family members to share any concerns or ideas freely.
